President Zhong Weihe and a delegation from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies visited City University of Macau on November 6^th. They were welcomed by City U’s Rector, Professor Yan Zexian.

Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS) is a key provincial university and a high-tier one with distinctive features of internationalization in South China in its education of internationally-oriented personnel and its research on foreign languages and culture, international trade and international strategic studies. During this visit, the heads of City U and GDUFS discussed how to build a collaborative relationship in the spirit of "complementing each other and sharing resources, mutually benefiting and progress together" and establish a solid foundation for future cooperation. This visit will not only help to broaden City U’s scope and its way of thinking on education, but also benefit both universities by allowing City U and GDUFS to learn from each other. This visit will help City U and GDUFS to collaborate in related subjects and exchange advanced ideas in both education and management, thereby making improvements in academic construction, curriculum optimization and management efficiency. Both universities’ overall strength and core competitiveness will be enhanced as a result; this will be a big leap towards achieving scientific and harmonious progress for both City U and GDUFS.

GDUFS’s delegation also included Principal Zheng Lihua of the Faculty of European Languages and Cultures, Deputy Director Liang Jie of the Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan Affairs Office and Portuguese teacher He Yanyan.
