City University of Macau’s Council Chairman Chan Meng Kam, the University’s Rector Yan Ze-Xian and company visited Secretariat for Social Affairs and Culture’s Director Office recently, and had a cordial discussion with Director Cheong U and Director Office’s Manager Cheung So Mui.

       Chairman Chan Meng Kam introduced in the meeting that this year would be the starting point for the University’s Transforming and Upgrading; City U would further regulate faculty establishments and perfect the course system, increasing both undergraduate and postgraduate enrolments. Rector Yan Ze-Xian stated that City U remained committed to “strive on quality, progress by specialty”; primary objectives in future planning would be perfecting the courses and subjects, and improving the teaching team. City U would become a high-leveled and internationalized open university of comprehensive nature and with distinctive specialties.

       After listening to the reports from City U, Secretariat for Social Affairs and Culture’s Director Cheong U stated that the policy of “prosperous Macau by education” would continued to be implemented, and Macau’s local tertiary institutes would be assisted in improving their strength of education and level of internationalization.

       City University of Macau’s Vice-Rector Leong Man Wai, Administrative Division Director Chan Chon Pat were also in the company for this visit.
