To promote inter-school exchange and cooperation, a party led by City U's Rector Prof. Yan Zexian visited Lingnan University in Hong Kong on July 16^th. They were warmly received by Lingnan University’s Associate Vice President Prof. Chan Tsang-Sing. Lingnan University is famous for its "liberal arts education", and has always aimed to instill a sense of civic duty in their students and to cultivate skills, competences and sensibilities that enable graduates to pursue their goals in a rapidly changing social, cultural and economic environment .

Prof. Chan Tsang-Sing extended a warm-hearted welcome to the party led by Prof. Yan Zexian, and gave a detailed introduction on the history and recent developments of Lingnan University. Thanking Lingnan University for its hospitality, Prof. Yan Zexian reciprocated with a detailed account on City University of Macau's history and progresses. Both parties indicated during the meeting that collaborations such as academic exchange, educational material co-development and faculty cooperation will be actively engaged in between counterparts in the two universities, basing on the spirit of "complementing each other's advantages and sharing resources, progress together in a mutually beneficial way". After the meeting, Prof. Chan led the City U party on a tour around Lingnan University, and accepted Prof. Yan's invitation on visiting City University of Macau in return.

This visit has laid a solid foundation for inter-school cooperation on a more in-depth level between the two universities. City U and Lingnan University can be expected to seek future collaboration in broader areas under the guideline of "mutual trust in good faith, win-win cooperation".

Rector Prof. Yan Zexian was accompanied by Vice-Rector and Registrar Prof. Xing Wenxiang, Executive Director and International Open Institute's Director Mr. Chan Chon Pat, Faculty of Business Administration’s Postgraduate Course Director Dr. Khong Yoke Wah, and Rector’s Office Secretary Miss Wu Chengyu.
