Representatives from CASS, Prof. Jiang Shixue, Deputy Director of the Institute of European Studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Feng Bin, Director of Bureau of International of China Social Sciences Press, Zhao Jun, Director of the Editorial Office of the Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Lin Yue Qin, Director of Social Sciences in China Press visited the CityU. . The visitors were warmly welcomed by Prof. Yan Zexian, Rector of CityU, Prof. Aliana Leong, Vice Rector of CityU and the Dean of the Faculty of International Tourism Management, and Prof. Gao Yan, Program Coordinator of the School of Continuing Studies.

Prof. Yan introduced the history of CityU to the visitors and highlighted the advantages of CityU. CityU has the comparative advantages of having a longer history, larger scale and higher level in the industry. Prof. Yan emphasized that it is important for Mainland China and Macao SAR to establish better and closer cooperation among academic associations. Prof. Jiang then introduced the members of the representatives and the features and advantages of the China Social Sciences Academic Press. The China Social Sciences Academic Press (SSAP) was founded in 1918, with a long history and has a good relationship with the academia. SSAP is a first rate national press which represents the country in communicating with the rest of the world. SSAP has been twice honored as National Outstanding Press. The press currently has 10 newsrooms, covering different industry fields. SSAP is dedicated in translating books in foreign languages to Chinese in order to let Chinese scholars understand more about the world. At the same time, SSAP translates significant Chinese books into foreign languages to let the world know more about the scholars in China. SSAP is willing to publish researches introduced by the CityU.

The two sides reached a preliminary consensus on the publishing of articles and research papers and on the cooperation with Portuguese-speaking countries and Latin American countries. Further cooperation is expected in the future.
