On the occasion of the 6th Ministerial Conference of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) (Forum Macao), the Institute for Research on Portuguese-Speaking Countries (IROPC) and the Macao “One Belt, One Road” Research Center of the City University of Macau (CityU) organized a book launch and colloquium at the Taipa Campus today. The new collection of studies – funded by the Education Fund of the Macao SAR Education and Youth Development Bureau – includes three publications dedicated to presenting a multidimensional analysis of the political, social, economic, trade, cultural, and educational landscapes of Brazil, Portugal, the Portuguese-speaking countries in Asia and Africa respectively, and their relations with China. The collection of studies also delves into how Macao can strengthen its role as a platform for connecting China and the Portuguese-speaking countries.

The book launch and colloquium were moderated by Vice Rector Ip Kuai Peng, dean of IROPC, and were attended by Chao Peng, director of the Macao “One Belt, One Road” Research Center, Associate Professor Eusebio Leou Chia-Hsin, Assistant Professors Chen Hong and João Simões, as well as Lecturers Lidia Ge Sining and Sara Zhou Jiayuan. The colloquium reviewed the new publications and their significance to the academic community, as well as Macao’s contributions to national development and opportunities for sustainable development.
