To further promote internationalization and strengthen exchange with Portuguese-speaking universities, Vice Rector Ip Kuai Peng recently led a delegation to Portugal with the aim of expanding international collaborations. The delegation, which consisted of Pro-Rector Wicky So Kam Hung and Assistant Professor João Simões from the Institute of Research on Portuguese-Speaking Countries, visited the Macao Economic and Trade Office in Lisbon, the University of the Algarve, and the University of Madeira, accompanied by Office Director Lúcia Santos. The trip was sponsored by the Macau Foundation.
At the University of the Algarve, the CityU delegation met with Vice Rectors Alexandra Teodósio and João Rodrigues. A discussion meeting with their management team was held, where an agreement was signed to promote interdisciplinary cooperation related to maritime studies and research, and to expand partnerships with universities in the European Union.
At the University of Madeira, Rector Sílvio Fernandes and Vice Rector Elsa Fernandes warmly received the CityU delegation and held a meeting with their management team. An agreement was signed with the University of Madeira to strengthen disciplinary complementarity and talent cultivation.
