Shen Zhiyan and Shen Hongzhe, both undergraduate students of the cohort of 2021 in design studies at the Faculty of Innovation and Design, City University of Macau, recently won a silver award in the visual design category of the 4th International Contemporary Youth Art Design Competition, season 1, for their work “Mparking,” under the guidance of Associate Professor Ren Yujie. The Macao Off-Peak Parking App “Mparking” aims to improve the utilization and efficiency of parking facilities, reduce traffic congestion, reduce air pollution, and enhance overall urban traffic efficiency through an off-peak parking service. During weekday work hours, parking spaces will be available for office workers to reserve, ensuring convenient parking. During non-work hours, such as evenings and weekends, residents and tourists can use the parking spaces, catering to their needs. By setting different parking fees for peak and non-peak hours, the app encourages vehicles to use parking spaces during off-peak hours, further optimizing the allocation of parking resources.

The competition was organized by the Asia Pacific Youth Art Design Institute, the International Youth Art and Design Association, and the organizing committee. It aimed to promote art development and exchanges among artists and designers.
