City University of Macau (CityU) recently held an orientation to welcome a new batch of outstanding scholars to join the university. This year, more than 90 teaching staff have joined CityU, bringing in new energy to its faculty and research team. These new faculty members will contribute to the development of high-level talents and continue to improve the quality of education and academic standards.
CityU held a three-day training program for academic staff, led by leaders and department heads, to introduce the University’ s current development from multiple perspectives, which provided new members with a deeper understanding of the university while strengthening communication.
The new teaching staff joining this year have rich academic backgrounds and research experience in various fields, covering computer science, network security, information engineering, data analysis, mathematics, finance, economics, accounting, management, marketing, hotel and tourism management, applied psychology, cognitive neuroscience, social work, education, art, applied languages, and music. They have studied at and served many well-known universities both domestically and internationally, such as Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, Sun Yat-sen University, Wuhan University, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, University of Pennsylvania, The University of Warwick, The University of Melbourne, The University of Sydney, National University of Singapore, and more.
The joining of these new academic elites will have a positive impact on future endeavors of the University in developing cutting-edge research, an inspiring learning environment, and knowledge sharing. Together, they will drive innovation and development in the field of research.
“With our founding mission and responsibilities in mind,” CityU will continue to build a high-level faculty team while upholding the social responsibilities and mission of “serving Macao and integrating into the Greater Bay Area.” The University will further collaborate with well-known universities both domestically and internationally to enhance our international academic influence, foster a high-quality learning environment, and contribute to the talent cultivation and academic achievements of Macao, the Greater Bay Area, and the country.
