To celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the establishment of the People’s Republic of China and the 25th Anniversary of the establishment of the Macao SAR, City University of Macau (CityU) organized a visit to the Handover Gifts Museum of Macao and Patriotic Education Base for over 90 newly appointed faculty and staff at the start of the academic year. This initiative aimed to foster a sense of identity and belonging among the new staff towards Macao and China, while deepening their understanding of Chinese culture.

Led by Kong Fanqing, chairwoman of the University Council, and Pro-Rector Vince Chu Te Lin, the group toured the Handover Gifts Museum, where they admired gifts presented to Macao by various provinces and regions of China upon its return to the motherland. These gifts, rich in local characteristics and artistic charm, symbolized the nation’s hopes for Macao's future.

Participants also visited the Patriotic Education Base, where they learned about Chinese history and culture through multimedia exhibits and historical films. The tour highlighted the profoundness of Chinese culture and its legacy, fostering a stronger sense of national identity and belonging among the new faculty and staff.
