Three postdoctoral researchers from key mainland universities have been selected for the 2024 “Macao Young Scholars Program” and will undertake two years of postdoctoral research journey at City University of Macau. They will be guided by Zhou Wanlei, Dean of the Faculty of Data Science, Associate Dean Zhu Tianqing, and Professor Gu Jia. This marks the first time CityU has introduced postdoctoral researchers through the program, making it the third university in Macao to do so. The selected researchers are Liu Yang from Tsinghua University, Bai Yiguang from Xi’an University of Electronic Science and Technology, and Li Xingyi from Northwestern Polytechnical University.

The program, jointly implemented by the Office of the National Administrative Committee of Post-Doctoral Researchers and the Association for the Promotion of Science and Technology of Macau, aims to leverage talent and research resources from both mainland China and Macao to cultivate high-level, innovative young professionals.

By sending young doctoral scholars to Macao for postdoctoral research, the initiative broadens their research perspectives, enhances academic standards, and fosters top-tier innovative talent. Ultimately, this program promotes mutually beneficial cooperation between mainland China and Macao, contributing to national technological and socio-economic development.
