A delegation from East China Normal University led by Deputy Party Secretary Meng Zhongjie recently visit City University of Macau. The delegation was received by Rector Jun Liu, Vice Rector Han Wei, and his faculty team. The two institutions signed an international student exchange agreement, marking a new phase in their cooperative relationship. The delegation toured the Sino-Portugal Belt and Road Joint Laboratory on Science of Cultural Heritage Conservation supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology and other facilities, engaging in discussions about cutting-edge disciplines such as “language + discipline,” big data and artificial intelligence, and health sciences.
Rector Liu emphasized the importance of the partnership, seeing the agreement as a new starting point for collaboration in cross-cultural exchanges. He invited international students to experience the successful implementation of Macao’s “one country, two systems” policy, and Macao’s unique cultural charm. Deputy Party Secretary Meng praised CityU’s development and educational achievements. He highlighted areas of mutual interest, including artificial intelligence finance and regional studies, noting significant cooperation potential.
Looking ahead, both universities aim to strengthen talent cultivation and academic development, complementing each other’s strengths to enhance their international competitiveness and promote higher education exchanges between Shanghai and Macao.
