The signing of the cooperation MOU between the SCS of City U and the North America Education Institute and Book Donation was held at the Golden Dragon Campus, City University of Macau on Dec.7, 2011.

The North America Education Institute is the AH&LEI Exclusive Licensee for Hong Kong, Taiwan & Macau. The American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI) was established in 1953 as an affiliate of AH&LA. It focuses on teaching, training and certifying leaders in the hospitality industry. The mission of AHLEI is to be the premier source for quality hospitality education, training and professional certification so as to meet the needs and advance the excellence of hospitality schools and industries. To accomplish this mission, AHLEI has developed an extensive line of training videos, CD-ROMs, textbooks, and seminars as well as certification programs for hospitality professionals from line-level employees to department heads and general managers. AHLEI is accredited by the American Council on Education. Currently, there are over 1400 institutions using the textbooks and teaching materials from AHLEI.

To show the support of the SCS of the City University of Macau, Mr. Robert L. Steele (CHA) of AHLEI led a delegation to participate in the signing ceremony. The members of delegation included Mr. Henry Tong, the Chief Executive Officer of the North America Education Institute; Mr. Coi Gwok Fai, Director of HKU School of Professional and Continuing Education; Mr. Chen Ming Tong, the President of Taiwan Tingmao Publish Company.

After the signing ceremony, the North America Education Institute donated a batch of Tourism Education books published by AHLEI to the SCS, City U. On behalf of SCS, the vice rector of City U Prof. Aliana Leong signed the cooperation MOU and accepted the donated books.

The MOU signing established the SCS of and FITM of City U as the major strategic partners of AHLEI and North America Education Institute in Macau.
