The School of Continuing Studies of the CityU and the Association of Adult Education Macau are committed to promote adult education and lifelong learning. The two institutions jointly organized a four-month professional program fon diploma/ certificate for Adult Education Instructor in September 2011. The program was sponsored by the Social and Cultural Affairs and the PDAC plan of DSEJ.

The enrollment had increased substantially and the students’ performed extremely well. Through a systematic study of adult education theory and practice, students acquired the basic knowledge and skills of necessary adult education and training and the necessary strategies, techniques and evaluation of adult education training, in order to effectively participate in and promote adult teaching. The Diploma meets the requirements of professional qualification of adult education instructor recognized by the DSEJ.

The two institutes conferred the course diploma and certificate in a ceremony and hosted a luncheon at the StarWorld Hotel in honor of the graduates . The Chairman of the Board, CityU, Dr. Chan Meng Kam, the commissioner of the Department of Continuing Education of DSEJ, Mr. Au Gam Ming awarded the diplomas and certificates to the graduates on February 7. Of the 30 eligible learners, more than 90 percent successfully earned a diploma or certificate. In the future, the organizer will offer more professional training to continue to meet the needs of the community in the development of the local workforce and enhancing the competitiveness of the residents in the hope of creating conditions for a local multi-industry.

Guests who attended the ceremony included the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Association for Adult Education, Mr. Cheong, the Secretary-General Mr. Wong and Chief Financial Officer Ms. Liu. Students had a lively sharing of their learning experience.
