Promotion of civic education is one of the important missions of adult education. Vice Rector and the Director of the SCS of City U, Prof. Aliana Leong spearheaded the study along with the research team. The research project, A Study of Basic Human Rights and Interests of Macao Residentsentails: 1. to review the ten-year evolution of Macao human rights; 2. to understand the aspirations of basic rights of Macao; 3. to analyze the problem of basic right protection; 4. to propose measures of improving the basic interests of Macao residents. The book was published by the One Country Two Systems Research Center of the Macao Polytechnic Institute.

  The book release ceremony was held at the lecture hall of Waichi Floor, Macao Polytechnic Institute on February 16. A total of 6 new books were issued by the One Country Two Systems Research Center of Macao Polytechnic Institute this time. Director of the Office of the Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture, Ms. Cheung So Mui, the Deputy Director of the Liaison Office, Mr. Hau Hom, the Commissioner of Chinese Foreign Ministry in Macao and the Department of Public Diplomacy and MOI, Mr. Zheung Mou Zyan, the director of Policy Research Office, Mr. Lau Pun Lap, Committee member of Macau Foundation Administration, Mr. Au Wing Zi, and the Rector of Macao Polytechnic Institute, Prof. Lei Heong Iok graced the ceremony.
