Shandong University President Li Shucai and his delegation visit CityU to deepen educational collaboration and exchange

A delegation led by Li Shucai, president of Shandong University, visited City University of Macau (CityU) today and was received by Rector Jun Liu. The delegation visited the campus environment and the Sino-Portugal Belt and Road Joint Laboratory on the Science of Cultural Heritage Conservation. During the meeting, Rector Jun Liu and President Li Shucai signed a student exchange agreement on behalf of their respective universities. Subsequently, the two sides delved into exchanges and discussions on talent cultivation, research collaboration, and student-faculty exchange, laying a solid foundation for future substantial collaborations. Vice Rector Han Wei and Xu Xifeng, director of the Office for Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Affairs of Shandong University (SDU), attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Rector Jun Liu warmly welcomed President Li Shucai and his delegation, providing an overview of the University’s educational characteristics and achievements in terms of its historical development, discipline construction, faculty team, external exchanges, and industry-academia collaboration. He highlighted the progress in interdisciplinary construction supported by big data technology, as well as the measures and achievements in the internationalization of talent cultivation. He expressed his expectation for in-depth collaboration with Shandong University in the areas of discipline construction, talent resource sharing, and international development.

President Li Shucai spoke highly of CityU’s recent achievements. He expressed his hope for increased collaboration in Chinese cultural studies, financial management, health and wellness, tourism management, and law. Both sides engaged in thorough discussions about future collaborations and directions. Moving forward, they envisioned more partnerships in talent cultivation, student-faculty exchange, and research studies.

Other participants at the meeting included Zhang Zhiyue, head of Publicity Department of the SDU’s Party Committee; Yan Xiao, clerk at SDU’s Office for Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Affairs; and Wu Cheng, head of Office of Global Affairs at CityU.
