The WSE Athletics Open Macau was successfully held recently at the Stadium of the Olympic Sports Centre. The Track and Field Team of CityU (City University of Macau) performed outstandingly in this event, winning a total of one gold, three silver and one bronze medals, bringing glory to the University. This event was one of the large-scale national events. To date, there had been more than 240,000 registered participants, covering 80 cities and 183 competition stations, with an unprecedented scale. 

In the mens open group 400-meter final, Qian Haining, with a steady rhythm and a powerful sprint, won the gold medal. After winning two gold medals in the 2024-2025 Macau University Track and Field Championship, he once again dominated the game. The mens 4×100-meter relay team composed of Qian Haining, Luo Haoxuan, Wei Dixuan and Cai Sheng outperformed in their first cooperation. The four batons were exchanged perfectly, setting a new University record of 46.03 seconds and winning the silver medal in the open group, demonstrating their teamwork and strength. 

In addition, Zhang Shuweichased against the odds in the womens open group 800-meter final and won the silver medal; Zau Gahou showed lightning speed on the men's M30 group 60-meter track and won the silver medal; student Yu Fengyi fought hard in the women's open group 60-meter final and won the bronze medal

 

This event was hosted by WSE SPORTS LIMITED and undertaken by Macau StarMac Entertainment Production Ltd. It attracted more than 500 athletes from 38 cities and regions to compete, and more than 28,000 people watched the event online.
