The open day activity was jointly held recently by the Volunteering Team of City University of Macau (CityU) and “Kin Wa” Family Service Centre of the Methodist Church Social Service Section of Macao to foster a better understanding of the life and learning environment of CityU among families. Themed “Enhancing Home-University Interaction, Showcasing Campus Vitality,” the event organized campus tours and interactive exchanges to provide families with an immersive experience of CityU’s humanistic essence, guiding young participants towards cultivating positive academic attitude and aspiration.

The activity commenced with a unique interactive game, “Find the Match.” Participants created keywords to describe themselves on a card. As facilitators read out characteristics, the volunteering team and families turned into curious detectives and engaged in a lively interaction. The event was filled with joyful cheers and applause as connections.

Subsequently, the volunteering team acted as “campus ambassadors,” leading families on a tour of the library, the Ho Yin Conference Centre, and the Tai Fung Building Garden. They introduced the facilities and campus culture, sharing their personal experiences of learning life and studies at CityU. The participants showed keen interest and curiosity about university life during the tour.

The volunteering team demonstrated the exemplary character of CityU students through their hospitality and friendly manner. They helped families experience the academic atmosphere and humanistic culture of CityU, building a bridge of communication between home and university. Through this campus experience, young people experienced the captivating charm of university culture.
